Recently moved to Google Chrome and have run into a problem.

I often write posts on one of the forums on phpbb and I use bbcode for registration.

In Chrome, for example, when selecting text and pressing Ctrl+W (Create hyperlink) closes the current tab.

Question: how to set hot keys the advantage of bbcode over the tab control?

If I understand correctly it's just not the correct handling of the keyboard events in js.
The rule is necessary in the source code of this web page.

as an option perhaps you can make a user script in it already to disable the default behavior on keypress, but this is gynaecology, because it is also necessary to give the code from the site to work.

Actually, Ctrl+W — in all browsers default closes the window/tab and it is rather strange for such a standard combination something to hang.
As well as alt+F4, ctrl+F4, ctrl+shift+WM...

hotkeys for BBCode: firefox,chrome, opera
"hurrah! surprisingly just happened to write a script that would work in Chrome, Opera and Firefox(should work in Safari, but can't test).
working combination: "ctrl+b"(bold), "ctrl+i"(italics), ctrl+u(underlined text), "ctrl+h"(hyperlink), "ctrl+m"), "ctrl+g"(googlemaps), "ctrl+q"(quote)"
