Sending logs from the client to the server

Is the client part(upd: living standards in the browser (ff,gc,sf,op)) of a web application a which is very active loggedout their actions (at the moment the log is going to textarea'Yu; don't know whether the best option, maybe even here something will tell).

I want to have these logs on the server. Since the log is large, it would be nice to archive the whole thing and send it to the server.

is it possible? if Yes, how? Maybe there is somewhere an example or a link to Doc...

Thanks in advance!

upd:
$("textarea_with_log").value += new_log_string;

the client "knows" when to stop logging and to initiate processing of the log. Problems with the completion/shutdown client side/browser "can be considered a" no
