Good day!
When developing websites on a Windows platform was used Denwer (very long time), OpenServer — the last time. They were a feature that all outgoing letters evolved into the directory as files. It was convenient to debug outgoing emails, with real Internet traffic for mail was not created.
With the transition to Mac OS X and MAMP Pro package this functionality failed to find. Who and how solved a similar problem with test mail?

You can tear out the plug from Denwer, long ago it was written in perl with minimal integrations works in *NIX systems. I, in my laziness, on the laptop use it as the simplest and fastest solution.

For example, github.com/sj26/mailcatcher runs as a daemon, has a web face. Works with anything that can send emails via smtp; works with PHP.
Generally cool stuff. The requirements to install ruby.
