Freelance and Python?

After three years of writing a site in PHP that I can't even see the code in that language. Moved to Python, seriously engaged in his studying, now reading the manuals to Django and trying to rivet sites.

But there was one little silly question — is it possible doing cederstam exclusively on Python (+ Pylons, Django, etc) to earn good amount of money through freelancing? Does anyone have any experience in web development freelancing without using PHP? And generally, whether the demand is?

Python itself made a very pleasant impression, Django is very nice and come back to PHP no desire.

People say that a lot of work, but it is actually not quite true.
I myself have been a very long practice of using different Python web frameworks and a good time to understand the current position of the platform on the freelance market and not only.
First of all, you need to tell Django that fairly sucks(as it so mildly...) web framework. For easy sites, Yes, something big — it is better to go for Pylons, Pyramid.
Then, a bit about freelancing:
On Russian websites freelance orders very, very little. Money will not receive. You're lucky if you find orders for turnkey websites/zero, there can be anything to use. BUT! Turnkey site should not take if you are one and there are no friends of coders, designers, companions.
\r
Really to find work on ODesk. However, there is not enough orders. In General, the situation is similar, only the total number of orders more. But, alas, not always. You can often observe the "jobs" that require the know-all and not just the web, this "vacancy" from some company. Accordingly, there is stricter selection, but if you're lucky, orders will not be enough.
\r
There is another side to modern web-Virgo — Ruby on Rails. Orders everywhere more than the Python, sites to do on this platform easier, more community. But! This is only for web dev.

The author of the post, don't listen to anyone, you decide on what is more comfortable for you to work.

Work for Python freelancing seems less than Pesnica, it's because in Python none is ordered by the sites for $ 200 for 3 days.
Python Manager a rare form of freelance work. Python/Ruby is most often used in large projects, where one just can not cope, perhaps because of orders in freelance a little.

Unfortunately for the Python programmers out of work. The writing on it since 2000. The author of the libraries to work with bill acceptors and fiscal registers and probably the fastest library for working with DBF, so I think not a bad pitonak.
Django is not very much, but even on it there are no jobs.
