There is a home hardware on ARM (30Mb RAM), which is Debian. I would like to adapt it (except for file storage) for some simple tasks as web server: maybe a photo gallery, a small app for personal Finance, maybe something else. The question is that very little RAM and need some kind of lightweight web server and framework which could be used? Or with such characteristics just lighttpd + php?

if you have problems with memory as options:
I would say the pros are all made.
1) would nginx + scgi_module
the implementation of the scgi piece of cake.
(writing a library for your framework)
\r
2) used libevent — there is already a built-in WEB server
I have a program in memory is 600K — vs 100M from PHP
\r
as template-engine you can use either a cttp or GoogleTemplate (syntax better)
