Friends, tell me: I want to make a catalog of one of city firms, information was collected from different sites. The layout and design is completely mine. If the sites are sources to present a claim to me, if they knew that information about the company taken from them (corny, you find my typo on my website)?

Legally speaking, whether the information in the catalogue is subject to copyright? Judging by
http://copyright.ru/
the author's property only in the ways of design and format of such information.

Can't address and description of the activities of the company to be closed copyright? Or maybe? Explain who's in the know, please.

not a lawyer, but from a law course I remember that information is not subject to copyright. article 1259 of the civil code, paragraph 6.4: "are not objects of copyright messages on events and facts having an exclusively informational nature."

and your database will already be subject to copyright.
\r
on the other hand, perhaps there company names or descriptions will meet all of these words with notes ® and (TM) around that do not know how to dance.

in General, no legal advice is necessary

A claim for the names of companies you no one can produce, but for the illegal (without permission) use of the database completely. Even if the info on their website for public access. And with the goal of making profit (banners/AdSense/direct quite a roll for commercial use)...

If this were not so, it would be possible to sue any search engine because it does exactly that: takes someone else's information and places on your site.

And what's the problem to ask permission? Or it will be too long?

If the owner can conclusively prove that you have reproduced at any substantial amount of information from their database, then there are grounds for prosecution and in civil proceedings.

If "information of company" it is something like books, like "the Secret of success Amazon.com"then, of course, this is subject to copyright.
