Specifically interested in 4th edition. Saw the 4th edition from the publishing house "Peter" — it is awful. Maybe there's some kind of reissue? And if you read the previous edition, as there is transfer and how much are they outdated?

somewhere flashed the information that a Russian edition, even some of the head cut, do not know is true or not. personally, I read the original and problems with understanding are not, even though no 100% vocabulary.

He was asked some time ago this question, the normal translation there. Those that have, many shoals and cut the material. Missing the following Chapter in comparison with the original: Strings, Containers, Enum types, Annotations, Concurency, GUI, and seems to be no examples. So the better the original, two zatsev kill - tighten language skills and java.

You are right, will have to read the original, and thus improve your vocabulary.

Hardly... the Third edition is also a terrible translation. Perhaps we should learn English? ( if you to master colloquial speech, the time it would take a lot, and to read English books to know the basics of grammar and stupid to fill vocabulary..)
