No one has set up a bunch of ArchLinux + HDMI audio and video have problems with sound, plain alsa will not help you need to use pulseaudio, the configuration has problems, no one will be able to help?

In fact, this is a Pulseaudio server and alsa is a sound card driver. Iron directly interacts with ALSA. Play through ALSA without using Pulseaudio, but not Vice versa. So you have to configure alsa. Conclusion
aplay -l
should show an hdmi device, if shows that you can use like so
mplayer-ao alsa:device=hdmi FILE.AVI
If not, it means the driver is not found device. Probably need to upgrade the kernel. I have a H55 chipset for it the desired kernel at least 2.6.35
