Good evening.
I have an old home DVD player ORION DVD-837, which my wife, with pleasure-viewed TV shows and movies. My flash player normally reads video files up to 1 GB (mostly watching movies ~700 MB), while the standard film size 1.4 GB starts to "slow down" in the middle of the movie. I'm not particularly bothered about this, because I assumed that the old man just not pulling large files, but recently a friend took a flash drive with the movie (1.4 GB), I tried to run it on DVD and noticed that the film at all when playing normally.
At first I thought that the flash drive is faster than my friend, but tests showed the opposite

Actually, the question to be: can a lower data transfer rate, a beneficial influence on the video playback and what drive recommend to use in a DVD player?

Most likely, it's in the movies — for example, films each were encoded in mpeg4, h264 in and the player "choked". Moreover, judging by the file size, the bitrate was not very high.

For purity of experiment check for the same film.
