Background: is a wi-fi router ASUS RT-G32 to it via the WAN connects twisted pair to the LAN hostels and Internet, but this connection is only available internal network between our two laptops and a global network.
When connected via LAN, respectively, an external LAN, but without Internet.

The problem: in fact, the subject, of course, with the Internet. Once tried to set it so happened that through the LAN port were all available, but often flew the Union, and for a few hours and does no longer connect, I had to send back.

PS: the firmware changed the IP and DNS router gets a gun, in a system using a wireless connection it is also worth automatic options.

Bonus: it's less important, almost invisible problem is the p2p connection, made via port forwarding, but nothing comes out, it is quite possible that they are by default disabled University administrators(as well as disabled access to online games).

I really hope for your help!

In General, if the static routes had to be that way (if we have a LAN at 10.0.0.x):
1 route:
Ip address network or host: 10.0.0.0;
Netmask: 255.0.0.0;
Gateway: 172.25.0.1;
\r
2 route:
Ip address network or host: 172.25.103.0;
Netmask: 255.255.255.0;
Gateway: 172.25.0.1;
\r
3 the route:
Ip address network or host: 224.0.0.0;
Netmask: 255.0.0.0;
Gateway: 172.25.0.1;

Across the WAN at the entrance of the LAN + Internet.
For LAN and Wi-fi to what is on the WAN input.

Settings router obtain the address via DHCP or static.
Whether to use DNS forwarding router there for everybody.
\r
In the clients connection properties are.
1. IP address issued by the router via DHCP or from the same range, but statically scored.
2. Gateway default then set the machine or specify the IP address of the router.
3. At odd with DNS here, too, there are options. :) If you are using DNS forwarding on your router (some manufacturers of routers the firmware is buggy DNS forwarding then just disable it) and then in DNS will be the IP address of the router, otherwise, in DNS we have DNS provider prescribe key. Well, another option to specify himself, such as DNS server of Google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)
\r
How can there be pitfalls? Well, for instance if the router machine in normal routes does not receive, then it will be necessary to register them in the router.
Still need to look what is the firewall in the router what is allowed and what is not, etc.

When connected via WAN on the router to add the route
x.x.x.x/y z.z.z.z
where x.x.x.x/y — LAN.
z.z.z.z — gateway, which is installed on the WAN.

1) you Need to see what the gateway in your router, when You issued address 217.116.48.222.
Usually, this can either be viewed on the settings page or the status tab.
Simmered, gateway 217.116.48.1
Then on the WAN interface, add the following route and see what happens:
10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 WAN 217.116.48.1
172.16.0.0 255.240.0.0 217.116.48.1 WAN
192.168.0.0 255.255.0.0 WAN 217.116.48.1
\r
2) If that doesn't work, you need to see to know if Your router aliases (multiple IPS on one interface)
Alternative firmware can.
In case of PPPoE you will get the Internet, then on the same interface simultaneously with manual settings, in your case
ip: 172.25.103.75
mask: 255.255.0.0
and you will need to add routes
10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 WAN 172.25.0.1
172.16.0.0 255.240.0.0 172.25.0.1 WAN
172.25.0.1 255.255.0.0 192.168.0.0 WAN
\r
In the 2nd case (with aliases) 100% working, but it is harder
Go for it!=)
