I think they are not to group need, and know why you have to know the complexity of the algorithm if you had never seen and do not know why you have it.

I think such a classification yet. But why not do it yourself, if you're interested?

For example, there is a list 300 popular algorithms: www.scriptol.com/programming/list-algorithms.php. I think most of their descriptions can be found in wikipedia along with their complexity. You can add to this list the tags with the complexity and post them somewhere and tell people about it.

Benefits are obvious — you prosledite algorithms (at least superficially), will be to understand them, and people use.
