Good day to you, %USERNAME%

Looking for a web engine for the map service. It is the engine.

I urge you not to ask the question — what maps.google.com, maps.yandex.ru and openstreetmaps bad — they're wonderful, but for my purposes is not suitable.

Also would appreciate any kind of feedback on the proposed engines — how they operate.

In particular mapserver.org/

PS. maybe someone knows what is the backend from OSM?

I bow to all the answers

I know, 3D now supports only Mapnik forum.openstreetmap.org/viewtopic.php?id=10342&p=1
Example latlon.org/buildings?zoom=18&lat=55.86289&lon=37.49092&layers=BT

That's not an answer, just an observation — we first used the JavaScript engine, but its performance was completely unacceptable — more than a hundred polygons, browser not pulled (IE, right and the other not). So we switched to Flash — there's a few thousand polygons displayed in an easy.

I think you should ask a question directly to the developers, like to catch them at the conference. Here the activist OSM habré:

PS Wikimapia uses its backend engine to generate your tiles, front google maps + your.
