Turn off the network, download revolt "clean", put to sleep, Wake me up.
If you Wake up — take a look in Additional Drivers, if there is no /var/log/dmesg on a review community.
Option two to turn on the sound, optionally will mount via sshfs disk(even his tail) — put to sleep.
Option three — switch to the proposed updates. Update.
Option four — upgrade to latest stable kernel from kernel:PPA. In General, above the 36 kernel.
And lastly — admit it — you have this problem always, or it came later( they came with the update ), try the model of your laptop via Launchpad punch
