Trying to configure Apache on Windows is 7th. Apache 2.2.17 no ssl, php 5.2.17. Windows — 64 bit Apache and PHP 32 bit, because 64-bit PHP is not.
Specifies php.ini specify the path to apache2_php.dll — restart the server and... "the Operation ended unexpectedly"

In the system log:

"Faulting application httpd.exe version 2.2.17.0, time stamp 0x4cbbe9e8, faulting module php5ts.dll, version 5.2.17.17, time stamp 0x4d25fb49, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x000f424c, 0x20d8 process ID, application start time 0x01cbc7c25385407e."

Somebody met with such? What could it be? Maybe due to the mismatch of bitness (64 vs 32)?

Maybe you downloaded php VC9 instead of VC6? For Apache if you needed VC6 TS.

Note:
anindya.com — there you will find the latest x64 version of Apache and PHP, he use them.

The developer recommends to use version 5.3. (5.2 there are glitches in 64 bit systems as I write).
I have php 5.3 Apache 2.2 on win 7 64 from.

Keep in mind that by default the Apache (and thus PHP scripts that run via mod_php) runs from the user SYSTEM, so it can read (and potentially damage) any files in the system. :))
Although I do not know, maybe in 7-ke system services more reasonably limited.

this week solved a similar problem. Apache with PHP 5.2 set normally, but the muscle in PHP and not earned. I spat and launched Zend Server CE — it's free, it includes Apache, PHP (optional 5.2 or 5.3) and the muscle can deliver and even phpmyadmin.
