Hello, the question is, the office has a pbx server (Asterisk).

There are Vilani in different offices.

In General, in one vilane have 6 Windows machines and 1 Ubuntu (10.10).

On Windows clients is SIP x-lite works fine.

On Ubuntu that only have not tried x-lite and Ekiga and Sflphone — everywhere the same problem — the sound is interrupted in one direction that in another (Lost part of words either when talking to the interlocutor, or when he speaks).

I would like to know why this is happening. The Wi-Fi network, but on Windows all works on hurrah. Can anyone encountered a similar problem.

Thanks in advance.

IMHO, there is still a small chance that they could influence some glitches with the sound system, but if in other applications they are not observed, I would have sinned on codecs, MB on network settings.
Although in your case, the version with codecs is also not so probable because you are using x-lite in both systems.

Purely out of curiosity you can even put the priority of the voip application is higher than normal, although this option would help only if the system is heavily loaded.

Try different codecs. Probably the default between Windows and Ubuntu is not a good option.

From the variety of sip clients under Ubuntu, to watch without a shudder just for SFLphone, which yuzayu. With him everything is good, the sound is not sausage. The rest either did not take off at all or had such a fierce look that I'm better of baevskogo script to call I will ;)
