Someone's been reading?
Now looking for good books on Python. Interested in developing simple applications to automate routine admin tasks (monetarily, backups, parsing logs). Roughly speaking, how to use python as a more advanced alternative to bash scripts.
Preferably more examples.

The title of the book fits perfectly, but it will have some sad.
Can someone cheer up good reviews or advise something more sensible.

and you download a book (probably a separate Chapter can be downloaded somewhere, even legally), look through it on the comp and make your own decisions. Basically, I used Python to automate sysadmins task and not knowing about this book, or even paper books — purely out of enthusiasm out on the docks in the Internet.

have this book in PDF, I don't even pretend to be a programmer, but have learned a lot. Even in Python, what didn't.

Read the first Chapter even useful, the rest you can scroll through and read something pure titanovoe and/or purely administrative. 4 Tr it is not necessary for anyone.

The book is in Russian in the first place. And "legal" for 250 rubles on books.ru second.
About typical tasks (parsing, etc.) there is something about ipython, although it is not an analogue of bash, of course, work with different typical problems. Even a little bit about Django :)
For my taste, a little eclectic in places, but if you analyze all the examples — it's probably not a bad and useless way to learn Python.
