Being a fan of minimalism, not like a bunch of preinstalled software and the operating system was always installed ubuntu with minimal cd or net install. But I bought a new laptop asus ux310 c wi-fi adapter intel wireless 8260 and the adapter is not detected by the installer during the installation process. Are there any options for installing ubuntu minimal version? If you install a bare ubuntu server and then install xfce, will it be the same as the PC version, or are there any differences in the server version?

PS Other distributions don't want to install, got used to ubuntu.

You can install the server version, install xfce and clean from server applications that are not going to use.
Either install the normal Ubuntu and clean from apps that are not going to use.
IMHO, work about the same.

in principle, any variant of Ubuntu can be converted into another through the magic of apt
repository, and the set of packages they are identical.

the disk Assembly is a particular build of packages from repositories tive aimed at a certain goal.

there is a standard build netboot which allows you to put Ubuntu purely raw footage of repositories with a full-size selection during installation. It has mini.iso minimalnogo of sizes from which you can put any version of Ubuntu.
