In Linux the Mac address needs to be changed to the lowered interface. Maybe here the same?

sudo ifconfig en0 down
en0 sudo ifconfig hw ether AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AA
sudo ifconfig en0 up

sudo ifconfig en0 down hw ether AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AA up
