Have you noticed in versions 8.10, 9.10 and now in the same story. Immediately after the OS is installed, login via ssh is instant. But then, each time longer and longer. Why can it happen?

I want to clarify that the delay after inputting the correct password.

And he's not trying to define your host in DNS? I remember in a long time FreeBSD came with the locale, until ordered host/or not disabled. I do not remember

Ubuntu login via ssh always displays how many updates are waiting for installation. Could it be that?

Most likely, long resolved DNS. Try direct IP access
