I don't know what difficult is to learn Python first? In any case, the PL is just 5% of what should be studied — 95% is libraries, api, frameworks. Of course knowledge is only one syntax to worry about, but then you notice that what you did in 3 days could be done in 10 minutes.

It all depends, IMHO, on what the tasks for Django is going to solve. If you type a simple CRUD we can not learn to copy-paste from the examples, if the logic is complex, it is best to at least have an idea about the language features, data types and standard libraries for effective treatment
