A year ago Ubuntu I did not catch on to the new computer for a very simple reason: the lack of full support for the configuration with two ATI cards, on each of which hangs on the monitor. The maximum that could try to offer Ubuntu at the moment, it's Xinerama, without composite, and without the ability to drag Windows from one monitor to another.

Question: have any improvements been made since then support for this configuration in Ubuntu? Does anyone have a live example of two monitors running on two raznyh ATI under Ubuntu?

About separate cards for different monitors I can not tell, but I have on the laptop also has two graphics card (Intel+Nvidia). The Dynamic Graphics System (graphics card switching on the fly button on the case) are currently not working. Works only still using one graphics card. Working with two monitors (laptop + plug-in) after patching the kernel (2.6.36-0-vaioz), but it actually operates on the same vidyuhi.
