What pitfalls there are when participating in the program to encourage authors habré?

Decided to start to write articles on habré (the first article scored >100 votes, and have ideas for several more articles), then to participate in the program to encourage authors, and to monetize their knowledge and ideas.
Interesting to read the reviews of those who participate/participated in such programs. What are the pitfalls? How often have NOT met expectations from their articles? How hard/long to get the money from the savings Bank of the articles?

5000r and the article scored more than 50 points it is your monetization? Work on one post on Habr I, for example, took only 8 hours writing a post, not counting the time collecting material. There is the point of writing for the sake of recognition of your personal brand, and so do at 5000r for the article can get a lot where it does not need such high quality articles as you want on Habr. 5000r is the normal fee for the article mediocre journalist in the local rag of significance.
Googling Kate Inozemtsev - she has lots of great material and videos on the topic of how to offer your articles to publishers and earn a living.

Doesn't cost the game worth the candle, by God.

Habr - this is not "expert it community", as perhaps some think. This is a group of people having approximately the same opinions on some issues, which is inside your "party" supports a very clear, very tough and very strict system - there are certain criteria that you should write so and not otherwise. If you write otherwise you immediately will destroy all of these "CARM", "reputation" and other debris. There are a set of provisions, such as "A good, B bad, to do good, to do G bad." From them you can't go back.

How to find out what A,B,C...? Read hubs that interest You, especially the top of the article where a lot of comments - and the trend is that there are A,B,C by itself turns out. If it coincides with Your beliefs - it's okay, if not - then either force yourself, or to score.

I this trend has caught not immediately but rather quickly and samovydvinulsja with Habra, asking only toaster you can't touch. And with Habra, everything that belonged to me, was logged.

There is a bit of a different purpose really.

Why I write articles on Habr:

- I should be pushing the any development
- I need to "talk to people" your thoughts, your ideas
- I had order some article at a good price

If that's not your case, then writing an article makes no sense.

- participation in the bounty program starts after 10 articles with a good rating!
- write mass articles which will go to people and you'll get the money - is difficult. There's really 4 articles about only one reaches the desired ranking. Ie work great
- the administration can always reset your account (really, just touched the "forbidden" theme, wrote a little more self-promotion than necessary - receive a read-only account, if the administrator monthly, then catch the reset).

Ie you are guaranteed herachat and wasting your time, while you do only disenfranchised with the illusion to get some money. This incidentally was the reason that many adequate guys stopped here to write something.

Write better in a 3-4 contingent it project and ask them rates for articles. I want you to say at once that it is better to obtain a conditional 3-4K on some project, something to write on Habr become and hope she is there some rating gain and so on.

What are the pitfalls?

Conditions of participation
In order to participate in the PAP, you need to have one of the following symbols — "Author", "Star", "Legend", "the old".
Rules and Badges (badges).

Visible "stones":
1. To get the desired icon, you need to post a lot and free.
2. And, despite the fact that all this with absolutely no guarantees and bilateral inspections charges/write-offs of points/votes.

IMHO: Your blog is more reliable.

How to say xmoonlight, it is better to have your blog.
BUT, the concept of "luchshesti" it would be necessary to determine. That is, we must understand the goal. If You want to earn in the texts, it is best to have your own blog, and develop it in the long term this CAN give the best result. For this you need shared hosting and WordPress(to put, to set, design, plugins).
If there is no knowledge and the possibility of technical implementation - the best option would be a paid LiveJournal or blogger.com - because they can be monetized.

If the desire is only to share the knowledge, because then you could find niche forums, and there to write.

If you wish to make is on the texts(no matter deep dive), and not against what your texts on someone will earn, it is better... to work as a journalist or copywriter. For example at sites like Lifehacker.ru or even Advego and copyranter.
Here read, for example

The ideal option would be a platform like a cross between LiveJournal and blogger, tj and medium. Convenient multi-user blog, where each post you also dropped charges in proportion to its monetization.
But such a platform does not exist, unfortunately.
Or such a platform can be assigned...Facebook!

update: here is an example of such a blog, on a narrow theme

In the beginning you need to understand why you write these articles on this site:
If you want to write something for personal expression, then it will not work -> as soon as someone of the users something like it, or you will break one of the countless rules of this resource, you will immediately receive anal punishment, bans and deletion of material.
In fact, you have to go "freelance" employee, which, according to the company policy and their censorship writes only what suits the audience of the site, it gets attention, likes, and sometimes even some penny, which hardly can be correlated with incomes such as programming at comparable "work".
It is important to understand and not confuse. For personal self-expression only your blog on your server

Answer as an employee of TM. The PAP - Program for the Promotion of Authors, that is, we in this acronym was laid sense of encouragement, not "payment for work". Therefore, the arguments in the spirit of "the articles for 8 hours write, a lot of places where the pay is higher" is not very appropriate. Every day, people write the publication on habré not even knowing about any payments — they have their reasons (some of them mentioned above). And one day we thought it would be great to encourage those who have been constantly writing — so there was a PPA. Did some research, studied the activity of authors have estimated the number of posts and their ratings — in order to formulate certain conditions of participation to understand how much it will cost, so it was predictable for us. Accordingly, the pitfalls are there — users as ever continue to publish materials, but some of them get some extra motivation.
