Faced with the fact that it is difficult to perceive the technical literature with a PC monitor, it is largely psychologically -requires a separation: on the screen is the code editor, on the table - book.
The printed edition is a little expensive, looking in the direction of e-readers, but I realized that on a 6" E-ink to read technical literature - masochism.
Look into buying used iPad/iPad2
If you have had experience using this device as a reader, describe your experience, please.
And immediately recommend a convenient application for reading. Thank you.

I read with the ipad 9.7 2017
The screen is good, is not too expensive. Excellent read for an hour a day.
For PDF use Adobe Pdf Reader, nothing found for pdf.
Minus of course is the weight, standing in the subway keep up great work

This was e-book, pdf only if in landscape option of the screen for 2-3 to share, but the tablet is more convenient.

Writing with the iPad(though Pro 10.5’), bought two months ago just for reading technical literature. Buying completely happy about the available Amazon Kindle are already starting to forget.

For reading using iBooks standard. Well app from Amazon, because there in the cloud a lot of books left.

P/s even Apple Pencil from a previous owner got. Make notes and sketches very convenient!
P/p/s well, in addition to cuddle up on YouTube was nicer than on the phone ;)
