Hi,
There was a desire
to reinvent the wheel
to make a very large website for mobile devices (smartphones and similar) — ie, html-tion. There is a desire to implement in PHP, in this connection the question arises: which PHP framework to use?
Requests very little:
Not abstruse documentation (even in Russian :))
Lightly MVC
Support (implementation?) i18n
Easy interface to database (mysql): I still think that it is often a query can be written by hand; yet it seems to me that ZF with DBA too clever by half
(preferably) No
frills
:)
To fence from the start — obviously a waste of time. To understand the diversity — crazy. Will you recommend?
Thank you.

For simple projects, simple as an axe Codeigniter. It is very good documentation and all that You have listed, although this in any framework. In General, CI is one of the most simple solutions.

About excesses is not clear. you are not forced to pull all. Take only those components that Nada. As for me Zend is quite logical, and if brakes, with a competent approach and caching can do good software.

By and large framework it does not matter in this issue. You should look in the direction of css3 media queries. Habré have already
mentioned
this technology.
