Use the webp format for images. How to implement it with .htaccess?

Tell me, does anyone have some working example how to load pictures using .htaccess on the website to the webp format for all browsers? And in cases where this format is not supported, then upload a normal png or jpg.

If You have a very different but working solution, I will be extremely grateful.

And what here .htaccess?
It's on the client you need to decide what format to request the image. Or application, analyzing the request headers to build the html in such a way that it supported image.
But what web server can do something about this? To change the url of images in html on the fly?
