Hello, I own and have not coped with the problem of the following nature: there is a desktop with a fresh license win7 pro eng. It does not set any associations to files. For example, right-click on the file .rb, choose "Open with...". First, in the list of programs there is nothing but default programs. Second, I click "Browse", go to the %programmfiles%, select the executable file I need editor, click the "OK", the dialog closes and in the initial dialogue, I still don't see what I have selected in the program. The same thing happens if I try to assign the Association in the applet "Programs by default". I understand that you can get into the registry and there to put all my desired extensions of the Association's hands, but it and a crutch, you know. To reinstall it once, and not for it. Maybe there are other solutions to my problem? Thank you.

Found only the description of the same problem from the other person, but with screenshots:

Try to create a new user, check out the Association. If everything is OK, delete the old...

And all of the recommendations you've read in this thread forum.oszone.net/thread-153513.html? And nothing helped?
I can only recommend to check the permissions on the branch HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT in the registry.

Try to do everything under the administrator account. I remember, because I had to solve the problem with the media files that had associated with the portable player.
