Smoothing you can set properties for your operating system as you wish. And your the user can. Everyone chooses what it is more convenient and does not need forced to try to do well.

I don't think it's a good idea to force the user their dislike of a particular type of smoothing. If it's not photoshop or some other editor, where this is a concern, the smooth method should work from the OS.

you can use the Cufon font, there are smooth turns, but that's just hemorrhoids :hover and so on
