Always it is necessary to do in the main menu "Home" (home, home, index)? Is it worth sacrificing the beauty in this case, for the sake of convenience?
The link to the logo is by default made a reference to main.

You can do, but better to make a link to "Home" is not active on the main. If the resource is frequently updated, the logo can be made active anywhere.

I think so. Not everyone knows that clicking the logo will go on the main. Himself the habit of first clicking on the logo, because works faster if you do not go to the site :) (look for the text)

The de facto standard on the Internet — if in the beginning pages there is a logo, clicking on it will lead to your home. Not only adhere to severe "post-Soviet" sites =)

Do not all know that the logo is=to the home. Especially the older people.

P. S. Probably, the laws of usability your logo should sound "jumps to main" ))

Enough links from the logo and at the bottom, in the "titles" or at the end of the page. The link itself in the main menu is irrelevant unless it coincides with the "news" section, "On site", etc.

You can check where to click most often with chips "map of clicks/links" Yandex metric, and then choose what you need IMHO
