Want to know the opinion of habrovky.
There is a network of ~70 machines, all WinXP, a couple of Win2k3 servers, mail and gateway on Linux, there is a domain, but a lot of laptops with XP Home Edition, which, accordingly, is not in the domain. Now is Symantec antivirus Corporate 10-th version. I got from the previous two generations of admins. It should be changed, as was very often not cope and it is not clear that there is a license. Want to purchase a new, licensed, reliable. The choice is between Symantec, NOD32, Dr. Web, Kaspersky, but maybe I missed something, you should pay attention to?
You want reliability and that all was controlled from one console. Don't need the firewall and antispam. Only the malware protection. Platform for the server part, too, in principle, not important, but if you can still expand Linux to serve Windows machines, it will just be a super (I think Dr.Web is can).
As I understand it centralized management is at all, all the praise, all the abuse, all were seen shoals. Of these 4 antiviruses I just do not like Kaspersky, for reasons which lie deep in the past. The rest, in principle, evoke sympathy for whatever reasons. All 3 ever so helped, but all 3 happened and missed the infection. Lately like NOD32 and Dr. Web, but again, very subjective opinion.
Option to put all on Ubuntu is not acceptable, alas.
The price of the issue at this stage is not important. Need offer the authorities, the best, albeit most expensive. If you say no, then I will look for options.
What would you recommend?
