In connection with the purchase of a PS3 I would like to raise on your home server (Debian Squeeze) media server which could stream video and preferably audio from the server to the console. Googling, I learned that it is possible for the DLNA standard. Since the server has no x's, I would like something like a demon. Who faced, advise?

I use Mediatomb mediatomb.cc/ Ubuntu 10.4. Can't say very happy, but it works. As constructed by scanning the tree did not suit me, I decided to clean up and done by hand, the benefit distributed to the library is small — mostly cartoons for kids. Here, the web interface was very helpful. That upset is the inability to transfer files from one directory to another — it is necessary to remove and drive in the new one. But database out there on SQLite or MySQL, so I guess it's solved.
