Hello.

For a long time trying unsuccessfully to deal with the following problem. After a short stint Chromium or more runs cease to see the sites and shows blank screen. Tried chrome and chromium, stable and dev version; clean directory with configs and caches before reinstalling.

Console output:
max@xajIa6yga:~$ chromium-browser
[28132:28132:8506780405:ERROR:chrome_dll_main.cc(251)] Gdk: shmget failed: error 28 (No space left on device)

(exe:28474): Gdk-WARNING **: shmget failed: error 28 (No space left on device)
max@xajIa6yga:~$ chromium-browser
[3442:3442:9037808345:ERROR:chrome_dll_main.cc(251)] Gdk: shmget failed: error 28 (No space left on device)

the word device he was referring to the shared memory.
the kernel.shmall ~= kernel.shmmax / pagesize
typically, pagesize=4096, and round better top to an integer and divisible by 1024.
\r
on 32битной kernel.shmmax shouldn't do more than 4*10243
and then the operating system will ignore. on 64bit you can, but do not make more than there is RAM.
\r
note the syntax:
\r
sysctl -w kernel.shmmax=33554432

around the sign equal spaces no. in the file /etc/sysctl.conf — is. so I recommend to edit sysctl.conf
\r
sysctl -w kernel.shmmax=33554432 >>/etc/sysctl.conf

\r
for views of shared memory segments, use comando ipcs
to force uninstall Geispolsheim ipcrm
