Welcome, Hebraist! Here's a situation: about a month ago called joyful friend and said he bought into the firm license of Windows. When I came to him, he saw two big packages with Windows XP SP2. Earlier, I heard from my friends, which is the official representatives of Microsoft that support for XP is discontinued and that they(the representatives) do not have the right to install it. Only Whist and 7-ku. So the question arises. Those versions that I bought my friend a "normal"? Or, to put it mildly, divorce is on the money? I would like to know more from knowledgeable people.

If the version is not OEM and you have on hand all the documents you did not break anything. If OEM, read what is written on the boxes.
