The font using @font-face

For example, there are four font styles of the Ubuntu Family: Regular, Bold, Italic, Bolditalic. I want to use @font-face in CSS. How to tie? Is every mark individually... Then get something like this, which is duplicated 4 times (generated using @FONT-FACE GENERATOR)?

@font-face { font-family: 'UbuntuRegular'; src: url('regular-webfont.eot'); src: local('☺'), url('regular-webfont.woff') format('woff'), url('regular-webfont.ttf') format('truetype'), url('regular-webfont.svg#webfontVgT726QZ') format('svg'); font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; }

Maybe there's a way to combine these four faces into one?

And the meaning of the woff, truetype and svg? As far as I know, there are no such browsers, which only support woff, svg al only.. so why the fuss?

I use Cufon. At font-face a lot of nuances that are not easy to solve.

Base64, if I understood correctly what it was about (converting it to datauri after) limited to ~20KB.
This may not be enough.
In addition, you as it is not consider that if you embed all the CSS that will be loaded all the options (woff,ttf,...) and will use only one.
So load as files.
You are unlikely to be so many fonts that the number of http requests to obtain them will affect the performance of your site.

Regarding mark, as I understand it, Yes, you will need to duplicate.
The mark you have to go in separate files?

By the way, like the Ubuntu Family with antialiasing when using it as a web-font as well?
If it's as shitty as 99% of fonts, we can still
CUFON cufon.shoqolate.com/generate/
to try.

There are a bunch of cons, but in terms of appearance serious wins.

In this discussion confuse the font style and the font file.

Please note that the font is a property of the drawing font, such as direct light, oblique, bold. They correspond to CSS properties, font-style and font-weight.

The font file can include any number of font, though all the family (the headset).
\r
In essence, the question I would have to recommend the deletion of the svg version of the font and to make three files.
