What are the database architecture?

It took for the report to find and to understand architectures in 3-4 remote databases. Come to mind only the file-server and client-server architecture, but about which, unfortunately, I can not write.

With the help of Google I found only the service-oriented architecture.

Please help to find some more architectures, at least the names so that you can find.

Thank you.

Comes to mind the already mentioned replication model (replicate) data, as well as really distributed databasewhere different data blocks are stored on different nodes. Well, single-mode DB, single-machine (with this model and probably should start).

You might want to write about the data model underlying the database? Relational, network, hierarchical, OO (although formalizations I didn't see her, only at the level of verbal description).
